چکیده
Background: Fenofibrate is used as an adjunct therapy to reduce bilirubin level and duration of phototherapy. This study was done determine the efficacy fenofibrate in treatment unconjugated neonatal hyperbilirubinemia.
Materials & Method: Total 60 neonates were enrolled devided into two groups. In group A, a single dose oral (10mg/kg) given along with phototherapy, Group B only Blood samples collected every 24 hours for total indirect bilirubin. SGPT before after giving fenofibrate.
 Result: Baseline serum 16.86± 0.89 A 17.31± 1.19 B. After starting came down lower value 14.83 ± 0.95 mg/dl 15.73 1.32 48 it 12.85 1.06 14.20 1.24 respectively. (P-value 0.004 0.001). The mean time needed phototherapy 51.20 8.29 70.40± 6.08 shorter comparison control group. No side effects observed administration.
Conclusion: Administration showed significant reduction phototherapy.

Effects of Body Massage on Response to Phototherapy in Neonatal Hyperbilirubinemia: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Background: Massage therapy has been commonly practiced as a traditional complementary therapy in neonates. This study was designed to evaluate the effects of massage on decreasing bilirubin levels in infants undergoing phototherapy. Materials and Methods A total of 60 term icteric infan...
متن کاملDose-response relationship of phototherapy for hyperbilirubinemia.
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Using light-emitting diodes during conventional phototherapy, it is possible to reduce the distance from light source to infant, thus increasing light irradiance. The objective of this study was to search for a "saturation point" (ie, an irradiation level above which there is no further decrease in total serum bilirubin [TsB]). This was a prospective randomized study pe...

Background:Jaundice is an important problem in the 1 st week of life affecting approximately 60% of term and 80% of preterm infants. It is commonly managed by phototherapy. Phototherapy may result in the development of hypocalcemia & create serious complications including seizures & other condition. Objective:To study the effect of phototherapy on serum calcium is neonatal hyperbilirubiniea. De...
متن کاملComparison of triple and double phototherapy in neonatal hyperbilirubinemia
Introduction: Icterus is the most common medical problem in neonates. Phototherapy is standard treatment of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia. This study aims to compare efficacy and length of hospitalization of double and triple phototherapy in term newborns with indirect hyperbilirubinemia. Methods: In a randomized clinical trial 40 healthy term newborns (gestational age>37 weeks) with weight≥250...
متن کاملEffect of Bilineaster Drop on Neonatal Hyperbilirubinemia
Background: Hyperbilirubinemia is considered one of the most prevalent problems in newborns. Phototherapy, exchange transfusion, and herbal medicine are common therapeutic approaches for preventing any neurologic damage in infants with neonatal jaundice. However, herbal medicine is less commonly used. Aim: This study aimed to investigate the effect of bilineaster drop on neonatal hyperbilirubin...
